Today is our next Function by the name of AND Function. This function is use to show “TRUE” if all of the condition are TRUE and it returns “FALSE” if any of the condition are FALSE. As we will type this Function, we will see two condition and after condition you will see (…..) which means that you can type up to 30 conditions in And Function. 

Condition:-

Condition is something that you want to test that can either be “TRUE” and I can be “FALSE”.
Now let’s come to our topic that how we can use it. To learn it, please follow the steps which are given below.

First Method:- 

1) Start Microsoft Excel 2007.
2) Now type "50" and "Excel" in Excel worksheet as given below.

 3) Now type this function (=AND(E4>30,E4<70)) at the front of “50” as given below.


4) Press Enter, after press Enter, you will see “TRUE” because the mean of our function is “50 is greater than 30 and less than 70” so it’s true.

2ND Method:-

1) Now we are going to work on our next method which is our “Excel” word. Which one we have typed on our First Method. 
2) Now type this function (=AND(E5="PowerPoint")) at the front of “Excel” word as shown below.


 3) Press Enter, after Enter, You will see “FALSE” because we typed “E5 cell is equal to PowerPoint” and in real it’s not equal to PowerPoint so therefore it’s become FALSE and If we type this function (=AND(E5=”Excel”)) so it will become “TRUE”. 

3RD METHOD:-

1) Now we are going to use our function on “two condition”. Use this function (=AND(E4>40,E5="Excel")) anywhere you want to type. After type, press Enter, now you will see “TRUE” because “E4 cell is greater than 40 and E5 cell is equal to Excel”. So therefore our function becomes “TRUE”.

Friends, today we will work on a simple but most useful function which is "SUM Function". You will think that why you teach this Function because it is easy one, But Mostly students or friends do not that How it. So therefore today I have bring this function for those people who don’t know that how to use it. From the name you will know that what the meaning of “SUM” is. SUM means add, The Add of two or more than two values. To use this function, follow the steps which are given below.

1st Method

1) Start Microsoft Excel 2007.
2) Create a datasheet as given below.


 3) Use this function (=SUM(D3:D7)) at the below of Salary as given below.


Now save it by a name, I save it by name of “Useful Function”. We will work on this function in my Next method.

2ND Method

Now we will work on how to add bonus money with an employee salary, For Example, Boss of the office give 3000 money trophy To  Farhan for its good work, So therefore now we will work on how to add this 3000 bonus money with Farhan salary, For this follow the below steps.

1) Start Microsoft Excel 2007
2) Open the first datasheet by name of “useful function” as we saved it on our First Method.
3) Now put the below function at the front of Farhan "Total salary" cell as given below.
=SUM(D3+3000)


 4) Now add the “SUM Function” at the below of Farhan “Total Salary” which is (=SUM(D4)) as given below.

 5) Now drag the second Total Salary below as given below.


Now you can also find the value of Total Salary by using of “SUM function” at below of Total Salary Column.

OR Function returns TRUE if any of the condition are TRUE, Without that our value become FALSE. When we type OR Function in a cell so it will display (Condition1,Condition2.....)

What is Condition?
 Condition is something that you want to test and it can be TRUE and can be FALSE, After condition you can see (.....)  it means that we can write up to 30 condition. Now is the turn to practice practically.

1st Method:-

USE ONE CONDITION:-
1) Start Microsoft Excel 2007
2) Type a “word” or “number” or both word and number, But i will write Both Number and Word in my this topic as given below.

 
 3) Now type this function (=OR(C2>70)), and our answer will become TRUE because our C2 value which is 100 so its more than 70. Number First Example was to use "Number" But now i will use "Word", Now type this function (=OR(C3="Knowledge")) at the front of Knowledge cell or anywhere where you want to find your value. And our value become TRUE  because  “C3” cell is knowledge and we want to know that Is “C3” cell is equal to Knowledge and our value will display TRUE, its means that “C3” cell is equal to “Knowledge” IF we type anything else at the place of Knowledge so it will become False as given below.


 

2nd Method:-

Now we will work on 2 condition or more than 2 condition, With the help of a comma we can go from one to another condition, So Now type this function ('=OR(C2>70,C3="Knowledge")) any where you want to find the answer, The value will become TRUE because both of them or TRUE, If we change there value with wrong value so it will become FALSE.

The topic of the day is How to use IF Function on Excel, IF Function is One of the most important and most useful function of Excel which is mostly use in nowadays in all kind of Office Work. With the help of IF Function we can do a lot of Work, For Example Find the Grade of a student, Pass or Fail, Good or Bad, Expensive or inexpensive etc. So today we will work on a student result that how we can find the Grade of a student. To find the Grade of a student, Follow the steps which are given below.

  • Start Microsoft Excel 2007
  • Create a datasheet as given below as i teach you in my previous tutorial.

  • Now click on the first cell of Grade as given above and type the below function.
  • =IF(G4>700,"A",IF(G4>600,"B",IF(G4>500,"C","Fail)))
  •  Now i going to Explain the part of If function, When we type IF function in excel the three value will appear which are "Logical_test","Value_if_true" and "Value_If_False" so now i will explain it that what are these value, Number First value is "Logical_test", Logical test is a expression which either evaluates TRUE or False , and number second value is "Value_if_false", which is after "Logical_test" value, which means that if your types logical_test value become right so what should be do, and our answer is which is in this function ,"A", its means that if our typed function become right so give it Grade "A", and after "A" we again use IF Function because now we want to find Grade "B" value so for this we type 600 replace of 700 and type B replace of A, its means that if our value become equal or more than 600 so give it Grade "B", after that again this function for to find the value of Grade "C" and our third value become finish which is "C", after C we use a comma, after a comma our third value will be asked which is "Value_if_false", Value_if_false means that if a value become less than 500 which is our typed value for Grade "C" so what should be do and our answer is "Fail". The complete and summary of the explanation of function is " If our typed value which is G4>700 become right so give it Grade "A", B and C also like this, After C we will use a comma, after a comma our third value will become highlight which means that if you type value become less than 500 so give it "Fail".
